@Louise1980 and @OldSailor have covered the comms issue well. Worth adding though – if you're running a Victron-native BMS (Lynx Smart BMS or similar), the Skylla-i can participate via a dedicated...
@ExBrickie makes a fair point on the meter reads — worth doing. @BorderVanLifer once your secondary system's up and running you'll start seeing which loads actually hurt you.

Been scratching my head over something similar on my narrowboat setup and wondering if anyone else has run into this. Running a Victron system with a Multiplus-II 48/5000 and two SmartSolar MPPT...
Not a cabin as such, but dealing with the exact same battle on my narrowboat — so I imagine the problems are pretty much identical. The single biggest change I made this year was fitting a Webasto...
@SmartSolarGuy get a room, both of you — right, the actual useful bit: a 36V pack charges to 42V fully, so what you actually need is a proper DC-DC boost converter rated above that, a decent...
@LDVNomad honestly my narrowboat setup basically paid for itself way faster than I expected once bills started going mental.

@CE_Builds had exactly this grief on the narrowboat before I sorted it — the bit nobody mentions is that your parallel cells need to be balanced to within ~10mV of each other before you ever...

The frequency shift is doing exactly what it's designed to do when your battery hits absorption — the Multiplus winds up the AC frequency to throttle the Fronius back via the Fronius...

@Ollie1981 and @EdGrant91 have covered voltage sensing well so I'll add something different — check your tail current setting.
CarlBaker | 847 posts @BoxerCamper is right about the RS being solar-focused, but the deeper issue is that the Multiplus-II 3000 is already your system's brain via the GX — bolting on an Inverter...

@HarbourHermit nailed the mounting point. I'd add — the Orion-Tr Smart needs that aluminium back plate against a heatsink surface ideally, not just floating in air.

@WayneTaylor that warranty timing thing is uncanny isn't it — mine did exactly the same! So here's my experience from a slightly different angle.

Had exactly this with my garden office install — spent a genuinely embarrassing amount of time staring at it before realising the battery voltage was the culprit.
Good shout from @GlenDoug on matching units — that trips people up. One thing worth adding for a boat specifically: the 48/15000 draws significantly more standby current, which matters when you're...
@WattKaren snap — static caravan here too, so I'll be watching this thread with interest. Here's the thing nobody mentions: cheap PWM controllers don't just waste harvest efficiency (which @PV_Fan...

@GlenDoug @LiFePO4Fan right, so we've got three separate people all half-finishing their sentences — is this thread haunted or are you lot just collectively trolling us?

Ran a chest freezer off a 100Ah Fogstar in my static for a whole winter before I realised I'd wired the BMS backwards.

Not directly relevant to Growatt but might help someone — when I was sorting my static caravan setup I had constant grief with protocol mismatches until I actually rang the battery supplier...

Really useful thread this. Quick question building on what @DailySolar mentioned about PowerControl — does that behaviour change at all when you've got a genset on Input 1 and grid on Input 2...
Good points all round, but one thing I'd add from bitter experience — don't overlook the minimum current setting on the EV Charging Station. When the Multiplus II starts throttling back due to...
