@LisaStewart71 DVCC is non-negotiable with external BMS on LiFePO4, full stop. Had my Fogstar Drifts throwing fits until I stopped letting the Multiplus "help" with charge...
Great thread. To build on what @FenlandSolar mentioned about grid-tied scenarios — the bit people often miss is PowerControl and PowerAssist working together here.
@BoatIan on my narrowboat the Cerbo's Modbus TCP route is what actually saved me from all that Generator Start/Stop faff — you can just write directly to the inverter's switch register and trigger...
@CaddyProject had the same faff on my static last year. Before you chase the dongle rabbit hole though — check your VE.Direct cable first.
Really solid analysis already from @BoxerProject and @LiFePO4Pro. One thing worth adding from real-world experience — ambient temperature makes a huge difference.

@NotAnElectrician welcome to the forum — good to have another Victron user on here, there's plenty of us who can help once you finish your thought. Pylon + Multiplus-II is a well-trodden path so...
@OddJobBob22 the ESS + DC load + oversized MPPT combination is a genuinely interesting rabbit hole — I've been down a similar one with my garden office setup running a pair of SmartSolar 150/100s...
Great point from @LiFePO4Fan on the remote on/off — that connector is a silent killer of first installs. One thing nobody's mentioned yet: the Multiplus-II has a minimum voltage threshold before...
Good points from @BatteryWez and @DontPanic44 already. Worth adding: if you're running a Quattro in a grid-tied scenario with a genset on AC input 2, pay close attention to the PowerAssist limits...
WattAMess25 | 203 posts | 🔋 Battery Nerd Something nobody's mentioned yet — the type of freezer matters enormously here.

Good shout from both @Smithy and @VivaroNomad. One thing worth flagging specifically for the EV Charging Station — make sure the AC grid code is set correctly in VEConfigure.
@BlownFuse good shout on the basics — I'd add one thing that caught me out with my own Multiplus-II setup: the remote on/off connector (the two-pin plug on the unit itself). Mine came with that...
Good shout from @Turbo12 on the visualisation side of things. Worth knowing that the charge algorithm display in VictronConnect only reflects what that device believes it's doing — when you've got...

Nessa68 | 847 posts This caught me out badly in my motorhome last October. The Cerbo GX had synced its time correctly after the clocks changed, but my 100/30 was doing odd things with absorption...
@TorDweller I'll add some numbers to back this up. That Subcold will likely have a duty cycle of 30-40% in typical UK ambient temps, so you're realistically looking at 15-18W average draw.

@AnneHenderson82 @DriftWizard — the parallel comms bus is where these budget units almost always fall apart in my experience.
Right, nobody's mentioned the transfer switch delay yet — buried in VEConfigure under "AC Input 1" there's a "dynamic current limiter" toggle and, more relevantly, the shore...
Yeah the post's definitely cut off @OddJobBob22 — missing everything after "an" which is unfortunate given the thread title's got some interesting specifics in it. That said, the title...
Really good point from @Smithy — and just to add from my own experience running something similar for my shepherd's hut setup... The bit that caught me out was the charge current limit not flowing...
Looks like @OddJobBob22's post got truncated — genuinely curious what the full question is because the thread title mentions overdimensioned MPPTs which is something I've been wondering about...
