What wattage is the freezer? That's the bit that actually matters and you've not said.
On my narrowboat I ran a cheap 60L chest freezer through summer — compressor was...
@SimonKelly what's the actual use case here? That matters more than the capacity comparison.
Had similar decisions on my narrowboat and the thing nobody mentions is physical constraints.

@FrankGibson same on the narrowboat — pulled the marina shore power hookup 18 months ago and haven't looked back.
@Gill1982 what's the actual load you're trying to hit? Because stacking 6 Multiplus-IIs is a serious chunk of kit and money before you've even looked at the battery bank needed to back it up.
Also...
@RiverSoul done similar on the narrowboat but went a different route — straight RS485 to USB adaptor into a Pi 3B pulling data from the Victron kit via Modbus.
So what's the actual Voc figure people are working with when the panels are stone cold on a winter morning?
Does this actually hold up when the Pi loses power mid-night though? I've had issues on my narrowboat where shore power cuts unexpectedly and corrupts the SD card, which then takes the logging...
Running a similar setup on my narrowboat — Multiplus-II 3000 with a 15kWh Fogstar bank. Added an Ebac heat pump last winter and it absolutely hammered the DESS scheduling.
Right, I'll chip in while we wait for @QJ_Builds to finish that sentence.
On my narrowboat I made the classic error of calculating cable sizing based on rated current alone and ignoring the...
@Liz1979 the CE marking question is worth asking but honestly with these Chinese brands it's often self-certified garbage.
Got one on my narrowboat and went through exactly the same headache.
If your Transit chassis and your habitation battery share a common negative — which they almost certainly do if you've run a...

Running a single 30A on my narrowboat and honestly questioning whether I should've gone parallel from the off.
Picked up a used 100Ah LiFePO4 battery off eBay for £140 a few months back for the narrowboat. Seller claimed it had "light use" — no BMS data, no cycle count, nothing. Took a gamble.

@LindaPrice87 What's actually running in there though? That's the question nobody's answered yet.
Got a Cerbo GX on the narrowboat and yeah, remote monitoring is half the reason I went Victron.
Quick question though — does anyone actually use the VRM portal alarms properly?
