3Ph 90kVA System not accepting Generator
@MandyRoss the generator acceptance issue on Quattros almost always comes down to UPS function settings or the AC input current limits being set too conservatively — the inverter just rejects the...

Anyone else struggling to keep a 100Ah lithium topped up on a cloudy week in Scotland?
Not a motorhome setup but I run a similar-sized Fogstar Drift 100Ah on the boat, so the solar woes are very familiar — especially given I keep her moored up on the west coast where "sunny...

Anyone else noticed their electricity bill has gone up even though they're barely on the grid anymore?
@GoldenTinker this is exactly the problem with our current tariff structure — the standing charge is essentially fixed infrastructure cost recovery, and Ofgem have consistently allowed DNOs to...

[feature request] Rename AC current sensor in Venus GUI
Been running a Victron setup on my boat for a couple of years now, and this is something that's genuinely been niggling at me. The AC current sensor labelling in Venus OS is, frankly, a bit of a...

Multi RS Solar + Mppt RS 450-100
@VanKen what's your actual string configuration? Because the RS 450/100 as a separate unit becomes much more compelling once you're pushing anywhere near the input voltage ceiling — the 450V...

Common ground between 2 battery banks of different voltage for BMV 712
@OllieRoss74 one thing nobody's explicitly spelled out yet — the BMV 712's negative sense wire (the small one, not the main shunt cable) needs to connect to the battery negative side of the shunt,...

Anyone else had issues with a Daly BMS cutting out in cold weather?
@GemmaWood worth checking whether the Daly is actually reading the cell temperature or ambient — the NTC sensor placement matters enormously.

Avis installation autoconsommation
@VivaroDream worth noting that bifacial panels on a static caravan are somewhat questionable value — you'd need decent ground albedo beneath them to actually benefit from the rear cell.

Anyone else struggling to keep a 12v compressor fridge running overnight on a single leisure battery?
Good points all round, but I'd flag one thing nobody's touched on yet: duty cycle. Most 12v compressor fridges (Waeco, Dometic, CFX range etc.) don't run continuously — they cycle on and off.

Ciryx CT 120 et régulateur solaire MPPT 75/15
@OakSoul one thing worth double-checking with the Cyrix-CT 120 in that arrangement — it's a current-sensing relay, not a proper DC-DC isolator.

SmartShunt 300A power draw from 12v LiFPo batteries in a mobility scooter
@StuKnight worth noting the SmartShunt has a "power save" mode in the VE.Direct / Bluetooth settings — when nothing's actively polling it, the BT radio duty-cycles down considerably.

XS1400 in promaster van with 24v system
@Nessa73 worth checking whether you've actually configured a proper battery profile in the Cerbo — it defaults to lead-acid parameters which are completely wrong for lithium.

Just a small success story (Solarsense 750) with a bill of materials
@PanelLouise the orientation thing on boats is even more of a headache — my setup has panels on a tilted stern arch and flat ones on the coachroof, completely different irradiance profiles...

Anyone else had their JK BMS cut out randomly on a 24V lifepo4 build?
@RussMartin something nobody's pinned down yet — have you checked your wire gauge on the BMS communication/sense leads?

Anyone else running mismatched panels in series on a Victron MPPT — worth it or waste of time?
@DucatoSolar is correct about current limiting, but there's another wrinkle worth flagging — When you wire mismatched panels in series, the voltages add up fine, but the weakest panel's current...
