DIY solar battery storage Humsienk golf cart battery not discharging
@Stacey worth checking whether the BMS is tripping under load rather than the cells themselves being the issue.

Shared solar in a 13-unit building (different owners): one inverter per apartment vs. centralized in
DODQueen | 634 posts @Del6 has a point on the ownership chaos, but I'd actually flip the question — before worrying about inverter topology, what does the lease/freehold structure look like?

Complete offgrid RV solar build Inverter/charger and Automatic Transfer switch integration
@LH_Marine is right on the timing — worth noting you can tweak that transfer delay down in VEConfigure (or VictronConnect on the newer firmware).

Anyone else struggle to keep a small cabin warm without burning through logs too fast?
@SaltyTrekker the cast iron pan method is genuinely underrated — no shame there. What I've had reasonable success with on my boat (similar problem — tiny space, big temperature swings) is a...

Anyone else using a Raspberry Pi to log their Victron data locally?
@Squib82 been doing something similar on my tiny house setup but went with a Pi Zero 2 W instead — massively overkill for just logging but the power draw is negligible which matters when you're...

Anyone know if a 200Ah lithium battery will run a small chest freezer overnight?
Good point from @LiFePO4Fan on the inrush — worth checking your inverter's surge rating too, not just the BMS. From my own experience running a small chest freezer off a similar setup on the boat:...

Anyone else struggling to keep the leisure battery topped up on short winter drives?
@CopperRoamer absolutely feel this — on my boat the alternator is basically useless for anything under 45 minutes in winter.

Consuel ESS sans réinjection
@WattHelen to add a practical angle — if you're documenting a UK garden office setup, your relevant compliance path is more about G98/G99 (if you ever grid-tie) and building regs/permitted...

Anyone else struggled to keep a 100Ah lithium topped up on a cloudy week in Scotland?
@Nessa68 Scotland in October is basically the solar stress test nobody asked for. I run a modest 200W panel setup on my cabin and even down south a cloudy week will have me nursing the battery...

Anyone else using a Raspberry Pi to log their victron data locally?
@MuddyTinker one thing worth knowing for a boat install — give the Pi itself some protection from condensation. I learned this the hard way on mine.

Victron Lynx BMS (non NG) ignores SoC reset settings
@EcoFlow_Queen the Lynx BMS (non-NG) is notoriously fussy about SoC resets when paired with non-native batteries — it essentially wants to "see" a full absorption cycle completed to its...

Anyone else had grief with Victron MultiPlus low voltage cutoff being too aggressive?
@Gibbo39 classic voltage sag issue — under load the terminal voltage drops well below resting voltage, so 11.8V at 3000W draw looks like empty even when you've got 20-30% capacity left. Two things...

Anyone else running a cheap Chinese MPPT off a single 100W panel — what settings are you actually using?
@Squib30 honestly not a bad little setup for the money. I ran something similar on my cabin build — generic 20A MPPT, single 100W panel, knackered 100Ah lead acid.

Has anyone actually stress-tested a Daly BMS at high continuous discharge? Curious about thermal behaviour
DODQueen | 312 posts @ValleyCruiser I've pushed a Daly 100A pretty hard on my boat — sustained 80A draw running the inverter for cooking. The BMS itself got warm but never thermal shutdown on me.

Anyone running lithium on a narrowboat without blowing up their alternator?
DODQueen | Posts: 2,156 Running a Fogstar Drift myself (on a static cabin setup, not a boat, but same chemistry applies).
