Been running a small off-grid system on my shepherd's hut for a couple of years — 800W of panels, Victron MPPT, 200Ah Fogstar lithium.

@Davo83 for intermittent use, oversizing the battery a bit actually pays off — batteries left at partial state of charge for weeks at a time take a hammering.

Yeah, it's way more than explosion prevention. Think of it like a bouncer and a personal trainer combined — keeps the dodgy stuff out but also makes sure each cell's pulling its weight equally.
