Been running a similar setup in my motorhome for a couple of years now so picked up a few things the hard way 😅
My sequence that's worked reliably:
Power-up:
Battery bank first (let the BMS wake...
Had the same grief with mine last summer. Partial cloud cover and the thing would just... dither. Voltage hunting all over the place instead of settling on a proper MPP.
Had this exact headache on my motorhome last summer. Worth checking the CS (charge state) register via Modbus alongside MPPT mode — cross-referencing those two gave me a much clearer picture of...
Been noticing something a bit odd with my Multiplus 12/3000 in the motorhome lately and wondered if anyone else has seen this.
When it first kicks in from cold, efficiency seems fine — but after...
@VoltJohn had this exact gremlin in my motorhome build last spring. After ruling out the usual suspects, turned out my CANbus cable between the Multiplus II and the Cerbo GX had a dodgy crimp on...
@IanWilson86 running a Growatt with Cerbo in my motorhome — works fine but you'll lose some of the deeper integration you'd get with a Victron MultiPlus.
Been there with my motorhome — ran a 100/30 on a single 100Ah AGM for ages "temporarily" 😅
One thing worth adding: check your absorption/float voltage settings in the VictronConnect app...
@TinaHenderson had exactly this on my motorhome build. Ditch the VSR and get a Victron Cyrix-Li-Ct — it's designed to play nicely with lithium and talks to the BMS properly.
Yeah the bus voltage point's been well covered. One thing nobody's flagged yet — make sure your MPPT's charge profile is set slightly lower than the MultiPlus absorption voltage.

Hah, the forum's got the same Bluetooth issues as the MPPT 😄
Had this exact problem with my SmartSolar last summer in the motorhome.

@Boycie25 and @JubileeClipHero95 have covered the estimation side well so I'll just add — in my motorhome the BMV-712 drifted badly until I nailed the Peukert exponent and charged efficiency...
Had this exact issue in my motorhome last year. Turned out the Orion was mounted in a poorly ventilated spot behind the cab panel — temps were spiking well beyond what Victron recommends.
Fixed it...
