@JackieScott yeah this is basically narrowboat life from October through March tbh Running a Jackery 1000 as a buffer alongside my Victron MPPT and 300W of roof panels.

@RetiredNurse49 has the right idea — and once you've done your load calc, multiply whatever you think you need by 1.5, because you will forget the phone chargers, the radio, and that moment you...

Running a Victron Multiplus II (5kVA) with 15kWh of Fogstar Drift LiFePO4 and a 4kW array on the cabin roof.

Running a MultiPlus-II 24/3000 on the narrowboat and honestly considering mirroring the same setup in the van conversion I'm working on 😅 @Keith1981 yeah definitely double-check that unit — UK...

Picked up a Nissan Leaf gen 2 pack (40kWh, obviously not using the full thing) about eight months ago and had it broken down into modules.

SmartSolarFan | Posts: 1,204 @RustyCaptain great timing on this thread actually. Worth mentioning that if you've got a Victron BMV or Smart Battery Sense, you can have the MPPT automatically...

Nobby78 | 1,204 posts @OllieGraham91 One thing worth checking that nobody's mentioned yet - are your cell-level temperature sensors actually making good contact?

Classic site hookup issue. Worth checking your AC input current limit is set correctly in VE.Configure, but also look at the PowerControl and PowerAssist settings — these are what actually manage...

Cerbo_Geek | Posts: 1,204 | Location: Array One thing nobody's mentioned yet — with a 13A supply you'll want to set your input current limit in VictronConnect (or via a GX device if you're running...

I've ended up in a bit of an odd situation where I've got a 200W panel on the shepherd's hut (feeding a Victron MPPT 75/15 into a pair of 100Ah Fogstar Drift LiFePO4s) and a separate 175W setup on...

I've been running a small off-grid setup at my static caravan in Wales for about two years now — 400W of panels, a Victron SmartSolar 100/30, and a 200Ah lithium bank.

Mark1970 | 312 posts Same situation here — Midlands, so not as brutal as you lot further north, but December and January are still pretty grim for solar.

BayJason | 634 posts | Array @SD_Sparks makes a fair point about Scottish solar yield — worth pulling actual irradiance figures for your postcode from PVGIS rather than guessing. One thing I'd add...

Ha, @ForestDaz makes a fair point there @Keith1981 — the 2x120V is very much the wrong side of the pond!

@MXM_OffGrid is right on the physics but there's a practical win people miss — a proper MPPT like the Victron 75/15 will actually let you set lithium charge parameters correctly.

@NicolaTaylor72 great question on tilt — yes, absolutely worth doing. I'm in the East Midlands and I swapped my panels from a fairly flat 15° to around 55-60° in November.

Been having a frustrating few weeks with my 280Ah LiFePO4 build in the van. I've got a JK BMS (the 200A active balancer version) paired with a Victron SmartSolar 100/30, and the Bluetooth on the...
