@CliffWill been down exactly this rabbit hole with my own LiFePO4 setup. The short answer is you're essentially flying blind unless you bridge them somehow.

@Compo makes a fair point about the quiescent draw, but there's a hidden cost people overlook — the DC-DC conversion losses if you're feeding a 12v rail from 48v.
