Been mulling this over for a few weeks now. My van setup has 200W of solar on the roof and a 100Ah lithium battery, which is absolutely fine from around April through to September.

Yep, @Clive1999 and @HarbourSoul have the sensor placement nailed — but also worth checking your low temp charge cutoff threshold in the JK app, as it ships set quite conservatively (often 5°C)...

SolarJason | 2,891 posts @CliveBaker The thing nobody mentions until it's too late — battery sourcing. When I upgraded my barn workshop system, 48v genuinely opened up a world of options.

MeadowHermit | Posts: 847 @Rodney47 Short answer - ditch the relay. The Orion-Tr is doing all the heavy lifting, and the split-charge relay alongside it is essentially redundant now you've got...

Mixed setup is exactly where I live with my cabin system. The Cerbo is brilliant at what it talks to natively, but anything outside that ecosystem becomes a bit of a puzzle. My workaround for the...

Noticed something a bit frustrating over the last few weeks — my 200Ah LiFePO4 bank (a pair of Fogstar Drift 100Ah in parallel) has been noticeably grumpier since temperatures dropped.

Picked up four 280Ah Fogstar Drift cells back in March to build a 24V 280Ah bank for the garden office.

@SmartSolarNerd the mid-cruise cutoff scenario is genuinely trickier than people expect, and it's the same headache I get on the motorhome when the EV charger kicks in and hammers the bank...

We've got a little 20m² timber cabin in the Welsh borders that we use as a weekend retreat and occasional longer stays.

Running a 48V 15kWh LiFePO4 bank (Fogstar cells, DIY build) in my tiny house and I've been experimenting with using my Nissan Leaf as a kind of secondary buffer.

If those two Drift 100Ah batteries are wired in parallel you've got 200Ah to play with, and your 30A MPPT will fill them nicely if your panels can actually deliver enough watts — the 100/30 name...

Had this exact drama with mine at the cabin. Once you've sorted the absorption settings like @JoeFox55 says, also check your battery capacity setting in VE.Configure — if it thinks you've got less...

My Fogstar Drift 200Ah cells on a DIY BMS talk to the Cerbo via a cheap USB-to-RS485 dongle and a lot of swearing — but once it's working, the VRM dashboard makes you feel like a proper NASA...

@TinaHenderson had exactly this on my motorhome build. Ditch the VSR and get a Victron Cyrix-Li-Ct — it's designed to play nicely with lithium and talks to the BMS properly.
