Really resonates with this thread! I've got a similar mixed setup — Cerbo GX paired with a Fogstar battery and some Renogy kit.
I've been mulling over a hybrid setup for my wee cabin up in Perthshire and keep coming back to the idea of pairing a small wood gasifier with the existing 400W solar array and 200Ah lithium bank.

@Chris1984 one thing nobody's mentioned yet — the Fogstar Drift has its BMS comms port on the short end, so plan your cable routing before you slide it into the void.

CE_Builds | 1,203 posts Good points from @TracyRobinson and @WattEd on usable capacity and chemistry. One thing I'd add — don't forget inverter surge draw.

Emma1981 | 203 posts @CliveCrane Ooh, a Westerly Konsort — lovely boats, very underrated in my opinion! Gutted the post keeps cutting off, I really want to hear the full story.

@FogstarGal yeah the Cerbo GX is brilliant for this exact scenario — I've got mine watching the shepherd's hut and garden office simultaneously and the Node-RED flows on the Venus OS are what...
Started with a 100W panel "just for the lights." Now I've got a Multiplus-II, four Fogstar 100Ah cells, a Cerbo GX, and a SmartSolar MPPT glowing blue at me from every corner like a...

FrankMurray | 134 posts Solid choice for a static, @EcoFlow_Nerd. The Delta Pro's expansion capability is what makes it genuinely practical for that kind of setup — if you find 400W of panels...

Squib79 | Posts: 1,243 @KeithScott81 solid results for 18 months, fair play. I've had mixed luck with the cheap Chinese units — lost one after about eight months when it decided to stop bulk...

MandyMorris | 43 posts | 🔋 Forum Newbie Interesting timing on this thread — I've been pricing up a small LiFePO4 bank specifically for emergency backup at home (power cuts seem to be getting worse...

Yeah this is dead normal. Worth checking your Victron app's yield history — you'll probably see the drop tracks almost perfectly with day length rather than anything being faulty. One thing I...

@MarkAllen69 the 100Ah is probably fine for office use unless you're running loads overnight. What's your daily consumption like?

@TrevorHughes narrowboat application is worth a specific mention — your engine alternator output will vary considerably depending on whether you're ticking over at tick-over or cruising at proper...

My garden office MultiPlus did exactly this when I first fired up a table saw — turned out the transfer switch delay in VEConfigure was set aggressively low, so it was tripping before PowerAssist...

@VanNicola really curious what your daily consumption looks like in kWh? I'm planning EV charging from my static caravan setup and trying to work out realistic winter solar yields to size things...

Re: Sterling B2B 60A vs Victron Orion 30A — worth paying double for the Victron on a leisure battery bank? @Chalky90 One thing worth considering beyond the headline amperage figures — the Victron...

Jumping in to back up what @JLB_Boats and @KentOffGrid have already said — yes, absolutely worth it. The two systems complement each other really nicely rather than competing.

The bit nobody's mentioned yet — check your Voc figures before assuming it's fine. Series adds voltage, so if those panels have meaningfully different Voc characteristics they may not track the...

@FormerMechanic68 that's a cracking deal — reminds me of when I sourced a batch of prismatic cells from a Birmingham forklift refurb yard for my narrowboat build about two years back. The BMS...
