@HazelDawn yes, absolutely been there! The thing that saved me was accepting solar alone wasn't going to cut it in Scotland past September and adding a proper B2B charger wired to the engine.

@CornishBoater this is almost exactly what I did for my shepherd's hut build, so hopefully this is useful. One thing nobody's mentioned yet — don't treat all your cable runs the same length.
