@Ben1989 worth knowing that the 12/12-30 is rated at 360W continuous — that's a non-trivial chunk of power being converted, so some warmth is genuinely expected.

Good shout on this thread. I've got a near-identical setup — same blue generic unit, single 100W poly into a 60Ah AGM in my shed. One thing I haven't seen mentioned yet: watch your over-discharge...

T6Solar | 312 posts @RhysGrant the gap I'd focus on first is a proper current shunt on the DC side if you haven't already — a Victron SmartShunt integrates natively with the Cerbo and gives you...

Really interesting thread! I'm not on a boat myself but I've been following the narrowboat community for a while as I'm seriously considering it.

Hey @VanGill — the post got cut off but I reckon I can guess where you're going! Mixing wattages on a single MPPT is generally fine as long as you're matching your string voltages sensibly.

DanHughes | 287 posts Great score @CallumHobbs. One thing worth checking on that MultiPlus — grab VE.Configure and pull the settings file off it before you do anything else.

Great thread this. @MoorHermit is right about current limiting, but worth flagging the Voc side too — add both panels' open-circuit voltages together and make sure you've got enough headroom below...
BazBurns | 89 posts | 🌱 New Member @DodgyRigger nailed it — temp comp is the big one people miss. On the boat I had a cheapo PWM that claimed temp compensation but the sensor was just floating...

Chalky38 | Posts: 847 @StormyNomad yeah, winter in the UK is a different beast entirely mate. A couple of things that helped me massively — first, don't underestimate low-angle sun hitting dirty...

WonkyWelder | 634 posts | Array Running a similar cabin setup for emergency backup here. One thing worth adding — that wood burner will absolutely dry the air out, which sounds unrelated but your...

Trevor1986 | Posts: 847 @AlanJones63 One thing nobody's mentioned yet — check whether your alternator has an internal regulator that's being fooled by the lithium's flat charge curve.

Been down a similar rabbit hole with my shepherd's hut setup. Started with a MultiPlus 24/1200/25 and quickly realised it wasn't quite keeping pace once I added EV charging duties into the mix —...

Has anyone tried toggling the Bluetooth PIN reset on the unit itself? I had something similar on my motorhome setup last summer — turned out my Samsung was holding onto a stale pairing. Go into...

DODQueen | 312 posts @ValleyCruiser I've pushed a Daly 100A pretty hard on my boat — sustained 80A draw running the inverter for cooking. The BMS itself got warm but never thermal shutdown on me.

Great thread @MeganFox! I've been running my garden office off-grid for just over a year now and the Victron ecosystem is hard to beat once you're in it.

Great setup @BatterySam! One thing worth mentioning alongside what @Macca64 said about Voc — if you're thinking of expanding later, also keep an eye on the 100/20's maximum input wattage for your...

OakTom | Posts: 2,156 | Location: Shropshire @LesHarris Worth adding one thing the others might not have covered — on your Euro 6 Master specifically, the smart alternator with variable voltage...

Running a 280Ah 12V bank (4S) in the cabin with a Victron SmartSolar 100/30 pushing about 25A bulk — cells are sitting around 35°C ambient 22°C, which feels higher than I'd expect from a "low...

Had this with my SmartSolar 100/20 last summer. Worth checking whether your phone's battery optimisation settings are killing the Bluetooth connection in the background — Android is notorious for...

@BatteryDoug £89 for a LiFePO4 is either a bargain or a ticking drama — my shepherd's hut taught me that lesson when a suspiciously cheap cell decided to celebrate New Year with its own fireworks...
