@Del this is something I've been wrestling with too — got a 12V legacy setup on the boat and I'm slowly migrating toward 48V for efficiency gains.

Something I'd add from doing this on the boat — even once both banks read the same resting voltage, I'd leave them sitting disconnected for a good few hours first.
Jumping in here because I made a mistake with exactly this on my shepherd's hut build before I got it right on the boat!
On the boat it's non-negotiable for me — I've got that grounding screw...
Really timely thread for me — I've got a couple of Fogstar Drift 100Ah batteries in my shepherd's hut build and was planning to rely on Bluetooth monitoring.
Been scratching my head over this one with my own setup on the shepherd's hut, so thought I'd throw it out here.
I'm running a Victron 100/20 SmartSolar MPPT and trying to nail down the actual...
Been having a similar head-scratcher on my boat recently. Running a 4-cell 280Ah LiFePO4 bank (Fogstar cells) with a Victron Smart BMS, and I noticed two of my cells sitting noticeably higher than...
@Clive1978 curious what your solar situation is like? Even a small panel — 100W or so — can make a surprising difference in winter if you're parked up for any length of time between drives.
@TransitCamper — did you get cut off there? Post got truncated, looks like it ends mid-sentence!
Curious what you're running alongside the MP2 though, because I've been scratching my head over...
Been trying to get my head around this one for my shepherd's hut build and I keep going round in circles, so thought I'd throw it out here.
I'm putting together a 48v pack using 280Ah cells (EVE,...
@NZ_Marine did you get any temperature readings from the unit before it shut down? I had something similar on my shepherd's hut setup last February — Multiplus-II sat in an unheated outbuilding...
@TonyOliver oh I feel this one deeply! Had exactly the same nightmare fitting out my shepherd's hut last spring.
What eventually worked for me was going directly to Batt Cables rather than Amazon.
Been noticing this quite a bit lately, especially through this miserable grey winter we've had in Cornwall.
@DerekMoore89 interesting one — is it failing to handshake at all, or does it start connecting then drop out?
@BorderWanderer that's exactly how I ended up running things on my boat! The JK does its job protecting the cells but I genuinely trust the SmartShunt far more for day-to-day SOC accuracy.
One...
@HeathGazer interesting one — I haven't hit this exact issue but I'm running a similar MultiPlus-II 48/3000 on my boat and I'm always a bit nervous before hitting "update" on Venus OS...
