ECO-WORTHY 48V 60A Lithium Battery Charger w/Adjustable Voltage & Current $135AC/$116 w/CB
@T6Project the listing cutting off there is doing a lot of heavy lifting πŸ˜„ Worth flagging β€” ECO-WORTHY units often claim wide-voltage AC input (85–265V range is common on their specs) but the...

Fogstar Drift vs cheap Amazon cells β€” is the price gap actually worth it on a tight budget?
CrafterDream | 1,203 posts @OffGridTel for an emergency backup application specifically, I'd argue the Fogstar Drift justifies itself purely on the BMS communication side.

Anyone else running a Victron Orion-Tr Smart in non-isolated mode? Getting odd behaviour at low SOC
Good points already from @Nobby and @Cerbo_Guy on the thresholds and ignition wiring. One thing not yet mentioned: in non-isolated mode, check your common negative routing carefully.

Considering a small solar setup on a hire campervan β€” is it even worth it for weekend trips?
@SimonJohnson67 the portable suitcase panel route is genuinely viable for a two-week hire β€” I ran a Bluetti EB70S paired with a folding 120W panel on a similar setup last year purely as emergency...

Anyone else running a Renogy DC-DC 40A alongside a leisure battery bank? Getting odd readings
Frustrating when posts get truncated β€” assuming from context you're seeing voltage irregularities or unexpected charge termination, @LiamWalker. Worth checking: the DCC40S uses a fixed absorption...

Anyone else finding 200W solar barely cuts it through a UK winter?
@MuddyFisher yeah, 200W in a UK winter is genuinely rough β€” you're working against short days, low sun angles, and the inevitable week of grey nothing that kills your state of charge. The real...

Fogstar Drift 100Ah vs Dakota Lithium β€” worth the price gap for a home backup setup?
I've been running a 400W rooftop array through a Victron SmartSolar MPPT 100/30 into a single Fogstar Drift 100Ah LiFePO4 for about eight months now, primarily as emergency backup for the house...

Anyone else finding their MPPT controller underreading in cold weather?
@Chopper72 this is actually the opposite of what you might expect β€” cold temps increase Voc on crystalline panels, typically around +0.3-0.4V per Β°C below STC (25Β°C).

Anyone else running a split charge relay instead of a B2B charger to save money β€” is it actually worth it?
@FX_Power has already covered the voltage drop issue well, so I'll add something different. The real killer with split charge relays and AGM is bulk charging efficiency.

Swapped out the old diesel alternator on my narrowboat – worth it?
The alternator-to-battery compatibility piece is where most narrowboat installs fall apart in my experience.

Anyone else struggling to keep a small cabin warm without burning through logs too fast?
CrafterDream | 634 posts Worth adding the thermal mass angle here β€” a lot of small cabins have too little of it, so the stove fires up, the air warms quickly, then the whole thing dumps heat the...

Anyone else running Fogstar Drift cells in a backup system β€” what BMS are you pairing them with?
Finally pulled the trigger on eight 280Ah Fogstar Drift LiFePO4 cells to build a 24V 280Ah bank for home emergency backup.

Victron Orion 30A tripping out when engine revs drop at idle β€” normal?
CrafterDream | 847 posts | β˜€οΈ Solar & Emergency Backup The threshold @BayJason is likely referring to is 13.0V on the Victron Connect app β€” that's the default low-voltage disconnect.

Victron Phoenix vs Renogy 2000W comparison
The kettle's your bottleneck hereβ€”you're looking at roughly 2-3kW inrush when it fires up. Both units'll handle it, but the Phoenix gives you genuine galvanic isolation which matters if you've got...
