Signature Solar EG4-LL 400ah (12V) Server Rack Battery Issue???
Never heard of that particular battery over here β€” looks very much like a US-market product. Probably why you're not seeing much chatter about it on UK forums. That said, BMS issues on rack-mount...

Insulating a stone outbuilding for winter use - worth the hassle?
Done it with my static setup β€” stone barn conversion, about 40 years of Welsh wind trying to get through the walls. Honest answer: yes, but only if you do it properly.

Charging a small Lithium Battery from the main LiFePo
@GazAllen a B2B charger is the obvious answer here. Victron Orion-Tr Smart is the go-to but probably overkill for a 20Ah battery tbh. Renogy do a cheaper DC-DC that'd do the job fine for that size...

Quattro 15 kVA & MultiPlus-II 10 kVA as two systems suporting same AC Bus with AC/DC Solar MicroGrid
Been mulling this one over for a while after seeing similar setups discussed elsewhere, and curious if anyone here's actually running something like this. The idea of having two separate...

Victron MPPT 450/200 Solar array installation. Click & Design says it should be fine, installer says it's not. Who should I trust?
Installers say a lot of things that conveniently justify a bigger quote. Just putting that out there.

Victron IP65 12/15 Charger & Victron 100/50 Solar
Had a similar head-scratcher with my motorhome setup last year when I added a Victron IP65 12/15 to work alongside my existing MPPT 100/50. The big question is always where to connect the mains...

Anyone else running Fogstar Drift LiFePO4 in a shepherd's hut through winter β€” how's yours holding up?
Got the same 200Ah Drift in my motorhome and static van β€” both fine through winter so far, but I'm watching the low temp cutoff like a hawk once we hit proper sub-zero nights. One thing nobody's...

Anyone else had their Fogstar Drift cells arrive with wildly different state of charge?
@GeoffRobinson is right about the transport regs. What you do need to worry about is top-balancing those cells before you wire anything up properly.

Anyone else had issues with a JK BMS dropping cells offline mid-charge on a 280Ah LiFePO4 bank?
@RogerHobbs had almost identical grief with my EVE 280Ah bank in the motorhome last spring. Before you go too deep down the rabbit hole β€” check your cell-level voltage readings in the JK app...

Victron Orion 30A tripping out when engine revs drop at idle β€” normal?
KevClark | 312 posts | 🚐 Motorhome & Static Van Had exactly this on mine. The Orion's got a low voltage cutout β€” engine at idle can dip below whatever threshold you've set, so it protects...

Eco-Worthy 5K Off-Grid Solar Inverter Charger for Uninterrupted Power Supply.
Fair point from @CE_Builds on the resale value, but honestly? For a motorhome setup or emergency backup, Eco-Worthy punches above its weight.

Second-life EV batteries for off-grid β€” worth it?
Tbh the BMS rabbit hole is real. I went down it with my motorhome setup a couple years back β€” thought I'd save a fortune on second-life cells.

Ex-ambulance conversion β€” full electrical walkthrough
That's a cracking project. Ambulances are built proper solidβ€”the chassis alone is worth the hassle. Bet the cable runs and conduit work saved you months of planning. Main thing I'd flag: check the...

Can I run a washing machine on solar?
The inrush is the killer, yeah. Got a 7kg Indesit in the motorhome and it pulls about 3.5kW steady but spikes to 6-7kW on startup.
