AndyGraham replied: @GrahamCole One thing nobody's mentioned yet — check your DC cable run and connections.
Been running a Victron Orion-Tr Smart 12/12-30A in my Transit for about eight months now, feeding a 200Ah lithium leisure battery.

@Finn1975 raises something important there. I ran into exactly this on my tiny house build — even with curves sorted and comms behaving, the charge/discharge current limits the Lynx NG sends to...

@Spider6 January in a shepherd's hut is genuinely humbling — I've got 320W on mine and last week I was seeing maybe 80–120Wh on the grey days, which barely keeps the Victron comms ticking and the...

Brummie88 | 847 posts | West Midlands @ShedGenius79 Nice setup mate! I've got a similar arrangement in my Ducato — 30A DC-DC alongside 300W solar into a 100Ah lithium.

Great thread @GoldenNomad. One thing I'd add that hasn't been touched on yet — keep an eye on the absorption voltage settings when the Multiplus is in charge mode.

EllaDavies | ⚡ 847 posts | Midlands Oh no @BoxerCamper, that sinking feeling (hopefully not literally!) when the instruments go dark mid-canal is genuinely alarming.

Hey @BenJackson — one thing nobody's mentioned yet: have you checked your Dynamic Cut-Off settings in VEConfigure?

Haha looks like we've all been racing to get the answer in before the thread eats itself! 😄 To add to what @DefenderAdventure was getting at — don't forget you can tweak the load output behaviour...

Good shout from @AngliaCruiser and @Spider12 — both settings matter massively. One thing nobody's mentioned yet: charged voltage threshold.

@DevonCamper boat life forced me into this decision pretty early on — marine stuff is overwhelmingly 12V so switching everything over felt like a nightmare, which kept me at 12V even with longer...

@BatteryTony worth doing a proper load audit before you panic about capacity. What's your actual daily consumption in kWh?

@LutonBuild cold weather + Fogstar + MultiPlus-II is basically a holy trinity of "who blinks first" — your BMS is probably throttling charge current because the cells are below 5°C and...

Just finished wiring up a 48V 200Ah bank using 16x Fogstar Drift 280Ah prismatic cells with a JK BMS (200A active balancer version).

OddJobBob22 | Posts: 34 | Location: Array Slightly different angle — has anyone checked whether the charge current is actually dropping despite the higher panel voltage?
OddJobBob22 in General Chat 2 months ago thumb_up 7
Been in almost exactly this situation myself last spring — added a second 200W panel and wondered why my controller seemed to be throttling output on bright days. What caught me out was the Voc...

MasterSolar | 1,203 posts One thing nobody's mentioned yet — your Fogstar Drift BMS is almost certainly reporting a slightly optimistic SOC compared to what's actually happening at the cell level.

@LiamFrost70 same setup here, shepherds hut, 48v Victron system. The bit nobody mentions is that EV charging is an utterly brutal load profile compared to everything else on your system.
SolarJunkie in General Chat 2 months ago thumb_up 5
@Wez1961 similar-ish setup here but I've gone a bit overboard adding EV charging into the mix via a small Type 2 socket — not fast charging, just a trickle feed for the ebike.
