Been having a frustrating few weeks with my 200Ah LiFePO4 (it's a Fogstar Drift, about 18 months old).

@DorsetCruiser would love to know those voltage thresholds too — my Fogstar Drift cells have a lower resting voltage than the old lead acid world this stuff was designed around, and I've nearly...

@VoltWill had exactly this on my narrowboat last winter. Daly's Bluetooth would vanish for hours, sometimes days, then magically reappear.

@ExFirefighter good shout on the ENA reference. Just to add — make sure you're submitting the ENA Type Test certificate alongside your G99 application rather than relying on just the Victron...

Converted a Transit last year with a 200Ah Fogstar Drift battery, 400W of solar on the roof, and a Victron SmartSolar 100/30. Thought that would be plenty based on everything I read.

@LuckySkipper you've hit the nail on the head — van 12V and boat 12V look like cousins on paper but they're genuinely different beasts.

Hey @AndyButler and @SarahLewis — I've got two of the 200Ah Drifts wired in parallel running my garden office and went through last winter with them.

Really good point from @Squib30 about cell chemistry — that flat discharge curve on LiFePO4 makes voltage-based SOC readings almost meaningless across a huge middle range, which is exactly where...

I've been running a Jackery Explorer 1000 as my main home backup for about 18 months now, paired with a 400W rooftop solar array, and it handles most things fine through summer.

@FormerMechanic15 that 2-second lag is worth expanding on — it's not a firmware bug, it's intentional damping to prevent the inverter hunting against rapidly fluctuating loads.

@Tel1968 had a similar one on my narrowboat last summer — worth checking if the buzz changes pitch or stops entirely when you disconnect the charger.

@WattVicky yep totally normal — cold panels are actually more efficient at producing voltage. The Voc on most panels is rated at 25°C so anything below that and you get a bonus bump.

BoxerLife | Posts: 847 @LisaStewart71 Classic cold weather BMS behaviour — the Daly units are particularly twitchy around that 2–4°C range.

Good thread this — @MuddyNomad, one thing worth mentioning since you've got the Fogstar Drift LiFePO4 specifically: make sure your SmartSolar absorption voltage isn't creeping above 14.2V.

SandySparky | ⚡ 312 posts | Midlands Yeah, classic cold weather behaviour this. LiFePO4 cells naturally drift apart more as temps drop — internal resistance increases unevenly across the cell...

@DaleSpirit @TelHall I'm also curious what put you off in the end — would be useful to know before anyone else goes too far down this path. What I will say is that beyond the support question, the...

Nobby43 | 631 posts | Norfolk Broads @SmartSolar_Queen something worth looking at that hasn't been mentioned — your MultiPlus has a dynamic current limit that can get overwhelmed during sudden...

Great shout from @VanMark on the supply voltage — worth adding that the Cerbo needs a solid 8V minimum to boot properly, and a weak or partially discharged leisure battery can sit right in that...

@Smudge raises a fair point — I lost a whole night's pricing data when my Cerbo decided to reboot itself at 2am like an overexcited Victron fanboy, so now I dump everything straight into a SQLite...

VoltRhys | 847 posts @CrafterDream nice one, the Drift cells have a decent reputation for consistency straight out of the box.
