@MarineDoug pretty much nails the transformer issue. Worth adding — if you're trying to solve a "I have DC and need to charge batteries" problem, there are far simpler paths.

@SussexSolar has essentially nailed it. Worth adding — even if your negative busbar looks adequately sized, check the actual connections.

Good point from @WonkySparky about the current side of things. Worth also double-checking how you've wired the second panel — series vs parallel makes a big difference here.
@George1975 mate, shepherd's hut + Victron Multiplus hunting generator is basically a rite of passage — mine did exactly the same until I dropped the charge current limit in the Multiplus settings...
